October Life

Picture
The past two weeks the kids and I have been without husband and Daddy while he trains for work out of town.  Things are very different when he's away and the days often feel long and tiresome without the anticipation of Daddy's arrival home each night.  We found it best to live simply opting for sandwiches and soup at dinner time and taking afternoon walks down our back country road to gather leaves from trees we don't see every day.

Being the center piece of the lives around me at times feels exhausting and there were days in the last week I had to stop and submit to the Lord's writing of my life script, knowing He works everything out for my good and His glory.

where sin runs deep, your grace is more...

So when the toddler crumbles to the ground upon the words "it's time to go inside..." and you know you still have to make dinner and give baths and now address the tantrum being thrown right before your eyes.  God gives grace in the midst of sin.
When a teenager isn't enjoying the history book you had hoped would inspire and makes her view rudely known.  God gives grace in the midst of sin.
When my time is being pulled in all different directions and my heart begins to grumble over the needs placed in my care.  God gives grace in the midst of sin.

In the midst of the sin around me and in me God's grace abounds making it possible to respond with love in all situations.  Whether in correction or discipline, in tiredness or rounding a mountain for the tenth time that day - God supplies my days with grace to give to others and be gentle with my own limitations.

Things I've not penciled into my day won't be brushed aside. These moments are short and will one day be a sweet memory my mind.
Thankful for two weeks loving and learning, extending grace and receiving it from others as we walk together through life in the joys and messes of our days - Praising Him who gives each breath and hope to our moments - everything is His and in that I find rest.

The milkweed takes its turn adding a gold sprinkling through the field behind our home. Is there really ANYTHING God forgot to beautify?!

"My life passes as swiftly as the evening shadows. I am withering away like grass."  Psalm 102:11

I write to free the words inside and document my numbered days, to tell of God's glory in all He's done for me and with me.  I am clay being molded and shaped into His likeness.
